Our Story

In the spring of 2021 I moved to the Mission Valley, investing in my forever home. A veteran of both the military and public service, I found myself in search of peace. Eventually I rescued a puppy and found myself looking at a big change. I have always loved animals, going so far as to get my B.S. in Wildlife Biology, and I thought it was time I revisit that interest.

With that in mind I decided to put my large fenced yard to good use. Adding two fences within, I have created two separate play areas. Both will be furnished with dog houses and small doggie porches. Toys and friends will be readily available. The construction of the houses is ongoing, as is the work on the catio and cat condos.

I am building all of the dog houses and cat condos with as many reused materials as possible, similarly the custom kennels, condos and toys will be mostly reused materials. Having a garage and workbench reminded me how much I missed woodworking. Using recycled materials presents me with design and build challenges that result in one of a kind designs that also result in reduced waste.

This world is a wild place, everyone deserves a space for joy and peace, even our pets. I want to provide an environment for my puppy to thrive, a place that feels safe enough for a nap and large enough for a nice romp, regardless of the season.

Rin, my elderly ginger kitty with Amai, the middle sibling, at over just a year old. They are indoor cats, but will have access to the catio with any boarders who may come to stay with us.
